Tech Tip: Accessing Falcon through VPN

Falcon Facilities Monitoring Systems are designed to allow your team to monitor your facilities from anywhere through the product’s Web interface.

However, VPN users do sometimes encounter a hitch. They may log in to the VPN, enter the Falcon’s IP address and see the authentication prompt — but never see a Web page.

To correct this problem, simply set your system’s TCP seg size to 536 for VPN Access. The steps for this setting depend on the Falcon system you are using.

Falcon F110

  1. From the main screen, select the Settings tab.Falcon F110 facility monitoring appliance
  2. At the bottom of the Settings screen, you will see the MTU size field. Enter 536 in that field and click Accept Changes.
  3. Click Save Settings. The F110 will reboot with the new setting.
